How TAC processes transcripts and AI features

AI processing uses Amazon Web Services, Inc. For a school or district that has a signed agreement with a later start date, the change takes effect on the date in that agreement. TAC-hosted processing is no longer available after the applicable cutover.

AI processing

Audio and text for enabled AI features go to Amazon Web Services, Inc., listed in the sub-processor list. After an account's cutover, TAC-hosted processing is no longer available, including as a fallback or a saved preference.

If cloud processing is unavailable after the account's cutover, TAC does not send the request to TAC-hosted processing.

Team and student controls

Your plan and organization’s AI settings still control which features can run. Only a district, school, or team setting can enable AI for student and under-13 accounts; without that setting, no AI processing occurs for those accounts.

Automatic transcription

Automatic transcription remains a separate setting. After the account's cutover, saved TAC-hosted processing choices use AWS Bedrock without requiring a new route selection.

TAC checks current account entitlements and team AI settings again when a queued job begins. A request that was already sent to a cloud provider cannot be recalled.
